What’s Under the Hood

Here are the tools I use for this blog.

WordPress

I’ve been creating sites with WordPress for 8 years now. It’s very flexible and easy to work with.

WordPress Hosting

Since the traffic has increased a bit, I’ve moved from SiteGround’s shared hosting to Cloudways, which offers managed Cloud hosting at affordable prices.

WordPress Theme

I’ve used GeneratePress for a long time, and it’s a great theme, but I decided to create my own using Underscores and Tailwind CSS. It was a lot of work, but it’s totally worth it.

WordPress Plugins

I like to have as few plugins as possible. Here they are: The SEO Framework BreezeWPS Hide LoginCookie Notice for GDPR & CCPASpam Destroyer, Two Factor.

CDN

I’m using Cloudflare and I’m very happy with it. I actually like the fact that it’s a reverse proxy because I can avoid some issues that can happen with “standard” CDNs. Cloudflare also offers good security features.

Grammar and Spelling Check

Grammarly is awesome because no matter how careful I am, I still make some spelling or grammar mistakes. It has a browser add-on that proofreads your text and highlights the mistakes. It’s not 100% accurate all the time, but it still does a good job.
